Manny Pacquiao Next Fight 2014: Amir Khan Wants November Match; Also Eyeing Floyd Mayweather Jr.

British boxer Amir Khan expressed that he wants to fight Manny Pacquiao in November and is also looking forward to his match with the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Khan told Sky Sports in an interview that he is looking at the likes of Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao for his next match.

"They are the big names and that is where I belong fighting the top guys. There are talks about Manny Pacquiao happening in the future - may be next. So I have left my team, Al Hayman and my team Khan Promotions to do everything," he added in the interview.

The boxer was supposed to go against Mayweather earlier this year but the latter chose to fight Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Khan, on the other hand, was able to outclass Luis Collazo on the undercard of Mayweather's fight. This victory, according to Sky Sports, has again made Khan a viable opponent for the American fighter.

"The fight between me and Floyd Mayweather is going to happen one day. As long as I keep winning and putting on great performances, it is definitely going to happen," he told Sky Sports.

But reports revealed that this matchup will have to be put off to a later date (maybe next year) as Khan will be observing Ramadan during Mayweather's scheduled fight.

And while waiting for his most awaited fight, Khan said he hopes to seal the agreement for a Pacquiao fight in November.

"We want to fight the big guys the top names in boxing. The next time that I want to fight is around November or December. Ramadan is coming up so I am going to spend time at home and enjoy that month," Khan told Sky Sport's Ringside.

In a report by Boxing Scene, it was also mentioned that Khan used to train side by side with Pacquiao with trainer Freddie Roach at Wild Card gym but Khan replaced Roach with trainer Virgil Hunter. The same report noted that the fighter made his welterweight debut last month during his fight versus Collazo.

The British boxer also noted that he is making necessary preparations for his upcoming fights. "I am spending more time in the gym now. I am learning every time I am there and I am spending more time with Virgil. I am getting to know him on a personal level and building that relationship up," he added.
