By Staff Reporter| Jun 05, 2014

The 2014 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs are well under way, with Game 1 scheduled on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 6:00 p.m. PT/ 9:00 p.m. ET at San Antonio's AT&T Center.

It's the match-up everyone's been waiting for. After the nail-biter series from the 2013 season, both teams enter the finals beating their playoffs competition with four wins and two losses.

According to CBS, the Spurs are much stronger and hungrier than last year while the Heat seems to be under performing compared to last year. Spurs not only have a deeper bench, a better record and home court advantage, this may be the edge they need to close out the season with them on top. But as two-time defending champions, one can never discount the skill, strategy and champion mentality that team Heat has.

Tim Duncan, a Spurs veteran, has been quite vocal about his eagerness to get the series started. "We're happy its the Heat again. We've got that bad taste in our mouths still," held told ESPN
