Doctors Fail to Reattach Penis of Wu-Tang Clan Affiliated Rapper Andre Johnson Following Suicide Attempt

A Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated rapper survived a suicide attempt after cutting off his penis on Wednesday.

Andre Johnson, who goes by the stage name Christ Bearer, reportedly cut off his penis before leaping off the second-floor balcony of his North Hollywood apartment around 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, according to TMZ. 

Neighbors said that Johnson, who is part of the rap group Northstar that was discovered by Wu-Tang member RZA in 1998, managed to get back on his feet after taking the plunge. He was then rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after critically injuring himself in the bizarre suicide attempt. Doctors, however, could not reattach his severed penis which was transported to the hospital a short time later, reports the New York Daily News.

Confused neighbors said no one in the apartment was doing "any hard drugs that would cause him to do such a thing."

By the time they raced downstairs, witnesses told TMZ that Johnson was incoherent and running around screaming.

Johnson was found by emergency workers lying on the ground in a pool of blood outside the building.

Reasons why Johnson cut off his penis and jumped off a second story balcony have not been disclosed.

Johnson's recording credits include the song "When the Guns Come Out" from the soundtrack of the 2004 film "Blade: Trinity," according to the IMDB.

Johnson is active on Facebook and recently posted a host of messages on his page in the past few weeks. One of them read, "Be mindful of what you throw away, be careful of what you push away and think hard before you walk away."
