'50 Shades of Grey' Movie News: 'Fifty Shades' Actress Eloise Mumford to Star in New ABC Pilot

Fresh off of wrapping up shooting for the upcoming film adaption of "Fifty Shades of Grey," it was announced that actress Eloise Mumford landed the leading role in a new ABC drama pilot.

The 27-year-old actress plays Anastasia Steele's best friend and roommate Kate Kavanagh in the erotic movie, which is slated to debut in Feb. 2015. 

According to Entertainment Weekly, she will star in the medical drama "Warriors," which is inspired by the state of the art Walter Reed Military Medical Center. The series follows the best and brightest active duty military doctors and nurses who practice trailblazing medicine on critically wounded warriors returning home from Afghanistan, military families and veterans, in addition to serving Washington, D.C.'s government elite, reports The Wrap.

Mumford's character Stacey is surgical resident who sometimes becomes overwhelmed by the sadness and emotional toll of her job.

"Eloise is really special," said executive producer Chris Keyser, who worked with Mumford on Fox's "Lone Star." He added, "She is perfect for this role and our first choice. I couldn't be happier or feel luckier that we have the chance to make Warriors together."

Based off of the sexy best-selling novel by E.L. James, "Fifty Shades of Grey," is a highly anticipated film about the erotic sex life and relationship between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Before Mumford was cast in the movie, she appeared in ABC's "The River" and Starz's "Crash." She also recently starred in the CBS drama pilot, "Reckless."
