NBA Free Agents Rumors: John Wall Plans to Recruit Kevin Durant to Join Washington Wizards in 2016

John Wall admitted that he will push hard to convince Kevin Durant to sign with the Washington Wizards when the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar becomes a free agent, the Washington Post reported Saturday.

Durant, who will become an unrestricted free agent in 2016, remains uninterested in talking about his future plans, but Wall revealed that he has already started making a pitch to the superstar forward in hopes of playing alongside him starting in the 2016-17 NBA season.

"I throw a little slick shots here and there. Try something," said Wall, who shares the same trainer with Durant.

While the 25-year-old small forward has shown few signs of desire to take his talents elsewhere, Durant is expected to be the most coveted player on the free agency market in 2016.

The Wizards will also have enough cap room to make a push for Durant since only Wall will have a fully-guaranteed deal by that time, while promising shooting guard Bradley Beal will become a restricted free agent.

When asked about the possibility of playing for his hometown team in 2016, Durant said that he is not thinking about it yet, adding that he loves playing in Oklahoma City.

"I don't even want to think about that. I haven't given it any thought, playing up here. I love Oklahoma City. I love coming here and visiting," said Durant, who is averaging 31.1 points to go along with 7.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game this season.

Earlier this week, Durant also spoke with Sirius XM NBA Radio, and did not sound like a player who is planning to sign elsewhere once his contract expires.

"I love playing there. The city fits me," said Durant of Oklahoma City. "I'm one of those guys that just likes to chill. That's exactly how the town is. The people are supportive. The fans are there all the time at the games. Every game feels like it's a sellout. They just support us so much."

Sources said that the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers are also setting their sights on Durant. Recent rumors also indicated that the Brooklyn Nets are also making a grand plan to convince Durant to play alongside Deron Williams in the future.
