The PlayStation Store is offering fans close to dozen "Final Fantasy" games at significant discounts, while at the same time giving PlayStation Vita owners a free game to download along with some special discounts as well.

IGN is reporting that many newer "Final Fantasy" titles are on sale, along with some of the classic games in the series as well. As usual, PlayStation Plus owners will receive a special discount on top of the sale price, making it so many of the titles are more than 50 percent off.

Some of the more recent "Final Fantasy" games on sale include "Final Fantasy 13-2," which is normally $19.99 but is on sale for $9.99 or $8.99 on PlayStation Plus. Both "Final Fantasy 14" and the Collector's Edition of the game are on sale, with the standard edition on sale for $23.99 (down from $39.99) and the $59.99 Collector's Edition being brought down to $35.39. Both games also receive additional PlayStation Plus savings as well. Other games in the series that are on sale include "Final Fantasy 3," "Final Fantasy 4: The Complete Collection," "Final Fantasy 5," "Final Fantasy 9," "Final Fantasy Origins", "Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy," "Dissidia Final Fantasy," and "Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions".

For those who are not interested in the legendary RPG series, Sony has several Vita titles on sale as well. The highlight of the handheld offerings is the game "Smart As...," which will be free for users temporarily. Considering that the game is one of the best currently on the Vita roster, features famed British actor John Cleese as the narrator, and usually costs $30, PlayStation Plus owners should jump at the chance to download the game for free. Besides S"mart As... ",Vita owners will be able to pick up "Dragon Ball Z: Battle for Z" for $31.99 if they have a PlayStation Plus membership.

This discount will last until Feb. 4, at which point the sale, along with PlayStation Plus free games "Don't Starve" and "DMC: Devil May Cry" will disappear from the premium service. This is a quality sale from Sony after the already amazing 14 For 14 sale that appeared in January for PlayStation 3 and Vita owners. Final Fantasy fans along with those looking for new games for the Vita should jump at the chance to buy these games cheaply and enjoy what they have to offer.
