'The Originals’ Season 1 Episode 12 Spoilers: Witches Sacrifice Vampires in 'Dance Back From the Grave' [Video]

Last Tuesday's episode of "The Originals" was filled with major twists and a game changing milestone. Now, fans should brace themselves for even more curve balls and turns promised to be delivered in next all-new episode of The CW series on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

In the last episode, Davina sacrificed her life in order to save thousands of others after fighting back against the age-old practice. However, Sophie's scheme didn't go as planned when the four sacrificed girls didn't come back to life because someone else had taken their magic.

In an exclusive interview with TVLine, executive producer Julie Plec offered insight about the situation with the four girls who were sacrificed.

"The mythology of the Harvest is that these four witches pass into limbo, waiting for their magic to spread back to the Earth. After their magic is spread back to the Earth, then they would be resurrected. What we saw at the end of the episode is that their magic was, basically, hijacked. If you follow the logic of the mythology to its magical conclusion, then it's possible that we haven't seen the last of these girls. But we've got to get rid of these nasty hijackers first," she said.

On the bright side, the EP added there "is absolutely still a chance" of completing the Harvest. "But these new witches who have come back from the dead are very determined, very angry, and each of them, individually, have an axe to grind on behalf of the witches [against] the Original family," she warns.

A promo for the upcoming episode, titled "Dance Back from the Grave," shows that dark magic has come to the French Quarter, which the Originals might be powerless to stop. Sophie explains that the coven of witches are sacrificing vampires as a means to gain more power, however Klaus might not be able to stop them.

In closing, the warlock attacks Klaus in a bar and the preview ends with his sinister words: "I will hurt Klaus as he hurt me. When I am done, he will wish that he could die."

The CW issued a synopsis for this episode in a press release that reads:

"Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), still angered by recent events, refuses to help Klaus (Joseph Morgan) when a gruesome discovery is made in the Cauldron. Rebekah (Claire Holt) is on alert when she uncovers the remnants of a sacrifice down by the docks and immediately realizes that it's the work of a dangerous warlock from their past. Meanwhile, when Elijah (Daniel Gillies) gets some information that Rebekah may be in trouble, he and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) set off to find her. At Rousseau's, Cami (Leah Pipes) comforts Marcel, who opens up and shares some details of his past with her, but things quickly spiral out of control when an unexpected visitor shows up. Finally, a violent confrontation ensues when Klaus faces off against a powerful force with an unmatched advantage over him."

"The Originals" S1E12, "Dance Back from the Grave," airs Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 8:00 p.m. on the CW.
