While the Nokia Lumia 520 is generally popular worldwide, the Lumia 920 proved more popular in China according to new data.

AdDuplex released its December market share figures for Windows Phone devices, and the Lumia 920 comfortably beat the Lumia 520 by 13.6 percentage points. The Lumia 920 was the most utilized general Windows Phone device in China with 24.2 percent of the market share.

What might have made the Lumia 920 more popular?

The Lumia 920's specifications include a screen size of 4.5 inches, 32GB of internal storage with 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels with LED flash, Bluetooth 4.0, an NFC chip, and a 2,000mAh battery capacity.

The Lumia 520 accounted for 10.6 percent ahead of the Lumia 800's second place finish with 8.5 percent.

As Latino Post reported, the Lumia 520 was noted as the most utilized Windows Phone device in the world with 30.8 percentage points. The Lumia 520 was also the top Windows Phone 8 smartphone worldwide for December with 39.3 percent of the market share.

Back in China, the Lumia 925 was noted to have made a significant increase compared to the other Windows Phone devices that cracked AdDuplex's top 10. The Lumia 925 landed at fourth place with 7.9 percent.

"Lumia 925 has almost doubled its share in China since September, but other than that, there aren't that many changes," noted AdDuplex's Alan Mendelevich.

The Lumia 820 concluded the top five Windows Phone devices with 7.6 percent.

The only non-Nokia Lumia device to rank AdDuplex's top 10 Windows Phone devices in China was the HTC 8X. The HTC 8X ranked at 10th place as it garnered 3.1 percent of the market share.

The AdDuplex report consisted of data from 2,499 Windows Phone apps utilizing the AdDuplex SDK version 2. The data was gathered and analyzed on Dec. 27.
