Madeline Stuart Model With Down Syndrome Talks About Her Success On The Runway [Photos]

In spite of having  Down syndrome, Madeline Stuart proved that her situation wouldn't be a hindrance to reaching her dreams of beocoming a known model. The 19-year-old star landed a career in the fashion industry over a year ago and has recently reflected upon her ups and downs this 2015.

In the span of one year, the model from Brisbane, Australia has now graced a lot of fashion runways, beauty campaigns and magazine covers. In fact, she has already strutted the catwalk of the prestigious New York Fashion Week.

According to Today, she has also had multiple photo shoots with known photographers and collaborated with famous brands. She is now the face of GlossiGirl cosmetics and the model of a handbag label, EverMaya.

In fact, she recently joined a theater company in Brisbane called InsideOutside, an organization that aids young people with disabilities, where Stuart helps to raise funds for treating children like her to a dance class.

As 2015 is about to end, the catwalker opened up about her story for "2015 Voices," a special series of essays and interviews of the biggest newsmakers of the year.


"It's been a wonderful year. We have made so many new friends and learned many more things about the fashion industry, but most of all, we have received so much love and support from our social media family," she told Today.

People noted that Stuart received nearly 100,000 followers on her Instagram page and about 500,000 friends on her Facebook account. She has an ever-supportive number of fans who are all cheering for her to do her very best in all that she does. 

Stuart also revealed that she is now a lot stronger today, and taking her new profession as a model "very seriously." She added that the only struggle she is facing is the "long hours" and the bunch of people she has to work with backstage in every fashion show.

Meanwhile, Stuart knows how to work hard, as she has put a lot of effort in to maintain her sexy figure. She religiously visits the gym and does boxing, rowing, jumping rope and more.

Stuart's social media pages help her a lot, as her followers constantly remind her of her positive influence. "People do contact us every day and say thank you for giving us strength and encouragement. Anything is possible," she said.
