Nokia Lumia 520 vs. Lumia 920 Windows Phone Market Share 2013: Lumia 520 Easily No. 1 Worldwide With WP Device, Says AdDuplex [Video]

The Nokia Lumia 520 was the top Windows Phone device worldwide for December according to new data.

The Lumia 520 easily held the No. 1 position as the world's overall Windows Phone device against other Windows Phone gadgets that were namely fellow Nokia Lumia smartphones. According to AdDuplex, the Lumia 520 represented 30.8 percent of the global Windows Phone market share, which was 22.4 percentage points ahead of the nearest Windows Phone challenger.

At second place was the Lumia 920, which fell into single-digit territory with 8.4 percentage points. The Lumia 920 was 0.4 points ahead of the Lumia 620's 8 percent.

The Lumia 720 finished at fourth-place with 5.8 percent, narrowly ahead of the 5.6 percent for the Lumia 710.

"Lumia 520 is the indisputable leader of the Windows Phone world and every month makes its position stronger and stronger," noted AdDuplex's Alan Mendelevich. "This month it crossed the 30 [percent] mark and combined with 521 now owns more than one third of the total Windows Phone market."

The top 10 overall Windows Phone market share chart, coincidentally, consisted of only Nokia Lumia smartphones. Meanwhile, the Lumia 1020 improved from No. 13 to No. 11 for December's statistics.

According to AdDuplex, the report consisted of data from 2,499 Windows Phone apps utilizing the AdDuplex SDK version 2. The data was gathered and analyzed on Dec. 27.
