Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks will be out for the entire season following a pectoral muscle tore during his team's game versus the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday.

NFL.com said an MRI done on Monday revealed the injury which the Eagles considered to a season-ending one for Hicks.

In addition, Fox Sports noted that Hicks told members of the media that he was still fine after the injury and that he can still move his body. But the MRI results showed a more serious injury than what he expected.

Because of Hicks' absence, the Eagles reportedly re-signed linebacker Emmanuel Acho to the team.

According to Philly, this injury came to the position in the team which they have "unusual depth." It added that this will further paralyze the team which already lost Kiko Alonso, Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans. Ryans due to injuries.

Hicks, as per the same report, is also a dependable player of the team and contributes a lot to its performance for every game.

"In the beginning of the year, he wasn't in the conversation other than special teams and a backup role as we grew him. But he jumped in and did such a nice job that now he has brought himself into the conversation of a main rotation," said defensive coordinator Bill Davis in the Philly report.

According to ESPN, Eagles coach Chip Kelly has made the linebacker position an important part of the team prompting him to acquire Alonso in exchange for LeSean McCoy then signed Brad Jones as a free agent.

Certainly, Hicks' loss will be a "major blow" to the Eagles especially that he was instrumental in the current wins of the team this year, Fox Sports added.

"He finishes his rookie season with one sack, two interceptions, one touchdown, three fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble. He also tallied 50 total tackles, good for second-most on the team behind safety Malcolm Jenkins," added the same report.

On the other hand, NFL.com said that the linebacker has been ranked as the "second-leading tackler" in the Eagles lineup after Week 9. He reportedly made great plays and has been very consistent in the recent games of the teams.

One of his most notable moves was his tackle of Tony Romo during Week 2, which caused the latter to spend eight weeks on the injured reserve list of the Dallas Cowboys.

The Eagles is certainly hoping that other players on the team will contribute enough to make up for Hicks' absence for the rest of the season.
