'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer, Cast & Plot: Director J.J. Abrams Says 'It's No Accident' that Luke Skywalker is Absent from Episode 7 Trailers

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" helmer J.J. Abrams had admitted that Disney and Lucasfilm intended to hide Luke Skywalker from the trailers of the film, firing up speculations on the original character's fate in the movie.

The premiere of the epic intergalactic movie comes in about a month and the new "Star Wars" flick seem to be giving birth to more questions than answers.

Probably the most resounding query among these is this: "Where is Luke Skywalker?"

According to Cinema Blend, the official theatrical poster for the movie was released showing his name but not his face piqued so much interest in the social media that speculations became rampant.

One of the loudest rumors about the missing Jedi is that he has probably gone to the dark side.

Now, someone had finally asked this exact question to the movie's director, J.J. Abrams who gave what Cinema Blend dubbed as the most "JJ-ish response" to date.

"These are good questions to be asking. I can't wait for you to find out the answer," he started telling the Associated Press, taking his time to spill the beans.

When asked if there was "a reason" for such mysterious cloaking of the character, he simply answered: "It's no accident."

While that did not exactly reveal too much considering how Abrams refused to divert from his "spoiler-lite marketing strategy," it still made the headlines with the director revealing some details about the film's final cut.

"The visual FX process goes on for so long, that my guess is that we'll probably be doing visual FX for the next three or four weeks, even though the cut will be done before then," he explained to AP.

He also explained how they are still working on the musical score for the film which would probably turn out great since they are working on it with John Williams whom he described as "a god when it comes to music."

Aside from that, there had been a leaked image posted over Twitter that shows Luke cloaked in what could only be described as Jedi robes.

Unfortunately for those who want to see it, Disney was quick at pulling out all copies of the photo before any damage is incurred, according to Polygon.

Because of such stringent marketing strategy, Cinema Blend, among others, is pondering whether there really is a surprise involving the character or that showing him in the trailers would reveal too much of the movie's storyline.
