Criterion Games confirmed that "Burnout Paradise" would soon be compatible in the popular gaming console from Microsoft, the Xbox One.

In a Twitter post, the British video game developer confirmed that Burnout's "Paradise City" would soon be available to Xbox One users as backwards compatibility for the game is already in the works.

"Yes there was, and yes it is... It's in the pipe, five-by-five. Stay tuned for a date though," the company's official Twitter account posted in response to a query from Twitter user Chris Enginner (@PNWEngOfDoom).

As stated in the Tweet, the UK-based game developer asked players to "stay tuned" since a release date has yet to be decided.

According to Game Spot, news about the game being included in the Xbox backwards compatibility lineup did not come as a surprise for most considering how the company had promised the exact same thing to the game's fans back in July, something the outlet also covered in a report.

When the unspecified release date arrives, the lineup in question can only be accessed by the members of Xbox One for Preview Program, the outlet explained.

This means that the game would still be rolled out to all Xbox One users though in a much later date.

"Paradise City" is the new face presented in the line of "Burnout" games which has its own "stand-alone flavor," per a review from Game Spot.

"Developer Criterion has invented a world wonderfully suited to Burnout's nature, a city built exclusively to cater to your destructive whims. And while a few design hitches here and there get in the way now and again, by and large Burnout Paradise delivers an experience that is both true to the Burnout name and wonderfully fresh-feeling all at once," the review read.

Aside from the racing game which offers "fast-driving, hard-wrecking action," the backwards compatibility lineup for Xbox One also include "A Kingdom of Keflings," "A World of Keflings," "Alien Hominid," "Banjo-Kazooie," "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts," "Banjo-Tooie," "BattleBlock Theater" and "Borderlands" among others.

"Shadow Complex" and "Gears of War 1" have also been introduced prior to the announcement of other games but is currently only available to the privileged members of the Xbox One for Preview Program.

Meanwhile, Xbox One is expected to roll out a major system update to accommodate the backwards compatibility mode called the "New Xbox One Experience" which is set to launch on November 12 per an announcement from Microsoft via Game Spot.

However, developers still have a couple of glitches to deal with in this update after some New Xbox One Experience previewers encountered bugs, according to Windows Central.
