The public was supposed to welcome an iPad Air 3 this year, but because other devices had to be prioritized, the tablet is claimed to be released by next year.

This was the same view of DigiTimes a few months back saying that "Apple has turned conservative about its tablet product line and is not planning to release a next-generation model to replace the existing iPad Air tablet."

It also revealed that the demand for tablets has not been high for the past years despite the great offerings from companies like Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, Asustek Computer and Amazon.

Meanwhile, a recent Expert Reviews report noted that the decision of Apple not to release the iPad Air 3 this year was "not surprising" because of low tablet sales.

"iPad sales, while strong, have been trending downwards in recent years as the market gets saturated and people don't replace their current tablets. It makes sense, then, not to spend huge amounts of money on developing a brand-new device for a stagnant market," explained the same report.

When unveiled, the newest iPad Air is expected to be called the "iPad 7" cost around $450 and will reportedly have a 64GB internal storage.

CrossMap said the upcoming device release could be Apple's thinnest iPad which is expected to be just about 6.9 to 7.1 millimeters or almost similar to the iPhone 6.

In a similar report, the Inquisitr noted that the next iPad would run on the A9X processor, the latest chip currently being developed by Apple.

There are also rumors claiming that the device will come with four speakers to provide users with amazing audio quality.

In addition, Expert Reviews said fans are also anticipating the device to have Force Touch or the newly introduced 3D Touch. The iPad Air 3 will also reportedly have an enhanced 4k resolution just like recently-released iPhone products.

Inquisitr also explained that the fourth generation tablet will have "a 10.2-inch screen boasting 3D graphics." Gamers, who are looking for crisp display and graphics, will surely look forward to the release of this tablet.

"Eye-popping visuals for certain websites will be a thing to do. If it looks good, people will glance at it and choose to revel in its beauty," the outlet added.

For its battery, Know Your Mobile said it will be reduced iPad Air 2's 7,340mAh setup which was attributed to the increased resolution and thinner makeup of the device.

The same report said it will also have an 8MP front shooter and a 2.1 front-facing camera.
