‘Halo 5 Guardians’ Release Date, Trailer & More: Rumor Round-Up, Next Installment May be the Best One Yet

Microsoft's and 343 Industries' "Halo 5: Guardians" is expected to be the best installment in the series. Fans are eagerly awaiting for its release date, which is only a couple of weeks away. The fifth installment will be released on October 27, 2015, reports Forbes.

So far, gamers have been put through one crazy roller coaster ride, with a recent trailer published last week allegedly depicting the death of the video game series' most iconic character, Master Chief. With the trailer's release, Microsoft and 343 Industries has accomplished something almost impossible - creating even more hype to an already highly-anticipated game.

A new trailer set to debut on Sunday night however, may paint a very different picture of the Halo mythos as shown in the previous trailer. According to The IUSB Preface, the events in the first TV trailer, which involved the death of Master Chief, who was also given recognition as a legendary soldier, were simply part of the timeline's "official story."

As shown in the new TV trailer, the "unofficial story" involves Agent Locke being ordered by the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) and the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) to hunt down the game's supposedly slain hero. This means that despite the announcement of Master Chief's death, he is nonetheless alive, and is set to be hunted down.

The trailers however, give very little information as to why Master Chief, who, while seemingly being recognized by the UNSC and the ONI as a great warrior, is being hunted and seemingly wanted for a series of still undisclosed crimes, reports Latinos Post.

With the release of the two trailers, both of which involve key aspects of the game's plot, the hype surrounding the game's imminent release is higher than ever. Microsoft and video game publisher 343 industries have already stated that the coming installment of the popular video game franchise is the best yet, with improved graphics and a fully enhanced gameplay from its predecessors.

Of course, Halo has made a name for itself due to the depth and intricacies of its plot. If the information and the events in the trailer are anything of a sign, then this coming release is looking very much like a worthy addition to the game's already stellar canon.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to be released on October 27, 2015 exclusively for the Xbox One. A Halo TV series is also reportedly in the works, though few details about the alleged project such as its airing date have emerged for far.
