With the launch of a new smartwatch from Huawei, fans say that the Samsung Gear S2 has found its competition in this newly-introduced device.

How will these watches perform when compared with another? Which one's better for techy aficionados? Below is a comparison.

Display

According to 9to5mac, the Huawei watch, which was launched last week, has a circular 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a 400 x 400 (286 ppi) resolution.

"It's covered by sapphire crystal, which puts its durability and scratch resistance a step above the competition in the Android Wear space," added the same report.

Meanwhile, the TechTimes noted that the Samsung Gear S2 also has a circular face, but only measures 1.2 inches. It also sports a Super AMOLED display with a 360 x 360 resolution.

Features

It was added in the 9to5mac report that the Huawei device comes with a 300 mAh battery, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, and 512 MB of RAM with 4 GB of storage. The watch is also dust- and water-resistant.

Android Community wrote that it comes with a heart rate monitor and quick release bands. In addition, the Huawei watch "comes with a magnetic charging cradle."

This means that it has an exclusive charger and that users cannot use any other chargers for this one.

Meanwhile, iOL Mobile noted that a version Gear S2 will have its own SIM card, enabling users of the device to call without using a mobile phone.

Ars Technica added that this 3G version of the watch will also allow users to "access certain apps without the need to tether your smartphone."

The 3G watch, as well as the non-3G version, will have features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC, which can be used for Samsung Pay.

According to the TechTimes, another highlight of the Samsung watch is the rotating bezel which it described as "a feature so simple and so necessary it could serve as a turning point in smart watch navigation."

Revealed at the IFA 2015 in Berlin, the Samsung Gear S2 also has a dual-core, 1 GHz clock, 4GB storage space and 512 MB of RAM. Other useful features of the smartwatch are the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope and heart rate sensors.

TechTimes said many users would love using this watch because it can last for 2 days without recharging and there is also an option to charges it "wirelessly."

Price

Gizmag said that pre-orders for the Huawei phone are now shipping with this made available starting at $349.

The Samsung Gear S2, on the other hand, is expected to be available come October 2 and will cost from $350- $400, as per Phone Arena.
