Alejandro Sanz is set to make his debut appearance in a telenovela.

Latin Times translated from TV Notas that Sanz has a role in the upcoming remake of the 1988 classic soap opera "Amor en Silencio," which stars Camila Sodi and Osvaldo Benavides. Sanz will also sing the telenovela's opening theme song titled "A Que No Me Dejas," the Spanish crooner's latest single and is the title of the upcoming project.

Sanz's role in the project wasn't revealed, nor how many episodes he will be in, Latin Times reported from TV Notas. However, it was said that the 46-year-old recording artist is about to start filming in Cancun.

"A Que No Me Dejas" centers on the love story of two individuals that will have "a fatal finale," a separate report from Latin Times noted. The telenovela is produced by the same group behind "Cuando Me Enamoro," "En Nombre Del Amor," and "Amor Bravío."

Alejandro Sanz Talks New Album

"A Que No Me Dejas" ("I Bet You Won't Leave Me") is a duet from Sanz and Alejandro Fernández, Billboard reported. The track is the second single from Sanz's latest album, "Sirope," which topped the Top Latin Albums chart in May.

"Aside from flamenco, some songs have a touch of folk or R&B. It's a very eclectic sound," Sanz told Billboard of "Sirope." "It's a mix of many styles, searching, perhaps, for different path by mixing sounds. I'm looking for each song to tell me something and have a sense. The sound is completely at the service of the songs."

Some of the tracks included in the artist's new album are the lullaby-like "El Silencio de Los Cuervos" and "No Madura el Coco," which centers on Venezuela's trying times, a separate report from the news outlet noted.

Sanz said that "Sirope" features a "very eclectic sound" and is a combination of numerous sounds, Billboard added.

Aside from his music and acting commitments, the "Corazon Partio" singer is also one of the judges of the upcoming musical reality show "La Banda" along with Ricky Martin and Italian pop star Laura Pausini, Billboard reported. Sanz and Pausini both appeared on Mexico's "La Voz" ("The Voice").

"La Banda," aimed to discover the next Latino boy band, will premiere on Univision in September, the news outlet wrote. The reality show's format was created by the network with Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment and Saban Brands.

"We're going to find those five guys who will revolutionize music in this country and all over Latin America," Sanz said, as reported by Univision and translated by Latin Times. "I'm already excited."
