'Deadpool' Trailer Released

By Staff Reporter| Aug 04, 2015

Crazy, crude, violent and unconventional have all often been associated with "Deadpool" as a comic character and his upcoming movie does not seem to deviate from those.

20th Century Fox has sparked the "Deadpool" movie hype after its release of a trailer to tease another trailer. The disfigured and mentally unstable comic book character is known to deliver an entertaining view of his illustrated world by breaking the "fourth wall". With the way the trailer was presented, the same brand of humor and craziness should be expected of the movie.

Ryan Reynolds, the lead actor portraying "Deadpool," voices the trailer. It should be noted that Reynolds was cast as Deadpool in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." The 2009 movie showcased the origin of not only Wolverine but also that of Deadpool. Staying closely to the illustrations storyline, "Deadpool", also known as Wade Winston Wilson, was recruited into the Weapon X program where he was equipped with mutant powers from not only Wolverine. The movie, however, also included Scott Summer's optic blast and teleportation.

"Deadpool is unique. He's aware he's in a comic book movie," Reynolds said during a Q&A in the recently concluded Comic-Con 2015. The 38-year-old actor, however, did not get to highlight the character's "wacky" personality due to his mouth being stitched. This was one of the major puns that was used in the recently-released trailer teaser.

"From the studio that inexplicably sewed his [expletive] mouth shut the first time, comes five-time Academy-Award viewer Ryan Reynolds as a man on an eHarmony date with destiny," Reynolds voiced over the trailer video as the camera slowly focuses on a red and black silhouette of a masked man. "Ladies and gentlemen, I give you me... Deadpool," the voice over concluded.

"Deadpool" ended the trailer teaser with a note on its official release date. ET reported that the trailer will premiere tonight on "Conan." It was also noted that Stan Lee will have a cameo role in the movie, in which he will portray a strip club emcee.

The studio, 20th Century Fox, also added, "when you're stuck in a day that's gray, and lonely... Just stick out your chin, and grin, and say... everything looks sexier in red," in the description box. The phrase is part of the lyrics of "Tomorrow", which is a song from the musical "Annie."

Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein and Brianna Hildebrand are part of the upcoming movie's cast. Tim Miller directs "Deadpool", which will be released on February 12, 2016.
