Despite earlier reports that the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will be launched by September during the IFA, recent rumors believe that it will be on the market a month after.

According to Windows Central, Microsoft will reportedly launch a separate event later in September or October.

"This event change makes sense as Microsoft can better control the message and also not have to worry about being outshined at a massive tech event like IFA. Plus, it may buy them a few extra weeks to prepare the hardware and software," explained the same report.

TechTimes reportedthat the change in the release date would make fans expect more from the two devices codenamed Talkman (Lumia 950) and Cityman (Lumia 950 XL).

Windows Central earlier reported that the names of the two devices had been debated since the time both were first known to come out.

It added that the final name of the devices will be decided by September.

Notable specifications of the device are listed below, according to Windows Central:

Talkman (Lumia 950)
A 5.2 inch (1440x2560)

Cityman (Lumia 950 XL)

3300 mAh removable battery
Qi wireless charging integrated
USB Type-C

FirstPost highlighted that the two smartphones will have Qi wireless charging and an infrared/iris scanner "that will unlock the device in seconds" after a scan of the user's face.

Wireless charging, on the other hand, will be capable of transmitting power to a receiver in a portable device. This reportedly uses a system which charges devices using resonant inductive coupling.

Softpedia stated that the phones may also come with "on-screen keys instead of capacitive keys."

"It could be that the Redmond tech giant has been gathering feedback from users who might prefer on-screen keys for a couple of reasons. First off, you rid yourself of those annoying accidental presses, and secondly, once you're not using these keys, they quickly vanish into thin air," according to Softpedia.

TheRem said that the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL could each cost $600 and $650 respectively.
