Samsung Galaxy S4 Minis on Verizon Wireless can finally join their larger cousins as proud recipients of a shiny new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

Verizon confirmed that the Galaxy S4 Mini Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update version JDQ39.I435VRUAMK5 is currently rolling out over the air. As usual, not every Galaxy S4 Mini will receive the update immediately as Android updates tend to be pushed out in batches. Given the substantial changes included, you'll want to have the Galaxy S4 Mini charged and tethered to a Wi-Fi connection.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S4 Mini brings the standard security and performance enhancements along with Bluetooth 4.0 LE support for full connectivity with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Verizon highlights the fact that users with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be able to locate their phones, use hands-free calling, and take pictures all from their wrist. The update also comes preloaded with the MyInfoZone widget, VMware, and Verizon Cloud and improves e-mail and 4G LTE connectivity.

At the moment, there is little information on when Galaxy S4 Minis on other networks will receive the update. Verizon, usually the last one to push out an Android firmware, seems to have recently upped its game by also being one of the first carriers to release Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S4.
