The Money Team is indeed true to its name after Floyd Mayweather Jr. gifted one of his proteges with an expensive ride.

TMZ said Ashley Theophane is celebrating Christmas in July, as he was given a brand new car worth more than $30,000 by the undefeated American boxer.

"Okay, it's not a Bugatti or a Ferrari, but Theophane -- who's 38-6 -- ain't complaining. Theophane tells us he was chillin' at home when Floyd called and said meet him at a dealership," added the same report, noting that it was a loaded 2015 Chrysler 300 given to him.

Theophane admitted that he needed a car but did not expect that Mayweather would be so generous to give him an expensive car. Maybe it was also a way of showing his protege that he appreciates him especially that Theophane won five straight fights.

"Floyd makes so much money. He likes to take care of his team," Theophane added.

During his May fight against Mexican Mahonri Montes, Theophane won a split decision despite dropping to a right hand by his opponent during the last round of their match. Daily Mail said that with his recent win, he is now in line for light-welterweight title match.

"Mayweather has secured title shots for three other fighters in his stable - Ishe Smith, Mickey Bey and most recently Badou Jack - and all three have upset the odds to win the title fights," added Daily Mail .

The news outlet also reported that Theophane could be the next member of TMT to have a shot at a title belt.

A similar Yibada report said that the value of the car is nothing to the earnings of Mayweather, with the most recent being $230 million from his fight with Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao last May.

"His earnings the last 12 months made the unbeaten American boxer the highest-paid celebrity the past year, followed by Pacquiao," added Yibada.

Aside from this luxurious gift, it was also reported that the American boxer also purchased a Jeep Wrangler for his son Zion. Yibada said the father and son recently got the vehicle for around $33,000, from The Auto Firm.

But Mayweather did not seem satisfied with the car he brought for his son as he also reportedly purchased enhancements to it that cost more than $100,000.

The boxer is known for his great collections of cars and automobiles and when it comes to these things, he does not anymore think about the value but focuses on the satisfaction he gets from them.

According to Yibada, his collection include a number of Rolss-Royces, a Ferrari Enzo and a few Bugatti Veyrons.
