Emmy Awards 2015 Nominations: Who's Got Chances of Winning? [List]

By Ma. Elena| Jul 17, 2015

The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards announced its list of nominees on Wednesday, July 16.

This year's Emmys, which will be hosted by Andy Samberg on Sept. 20, will broadcast live on FOX from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Variety reported.

The award giving body's announcement of its nominees was met with several surprises, given that there were notable snubs and shockers in its list. For one, the CW's critically-acclaimed series, "Jane the Virgin," didn't receive a nomination, as well as its lead star, Gina Rodriguez. Earlier this year, the actress won a Golden Globe for the Best Actress in a TV Series category, Fox News Latino noted.

The only actor nominated from "Jane the Virgin" is Anthony Mendez, who serves as the narrator of the show, Entertainment Weekly wrote.

Other shows who got snubbed are "The Big Bang Theory" and one of its leads, Jim Parsons, "Empire," "The Good Wife," the supporting actors of "Mad Men," "The Affair," and "The Americans," Variety listed.

On the plus side, fan-favorite Tatiana Maslany of BBC America's "Orphan Black" finally received a nomination for her multiple roles in the series. Other surprising nominees are Keegan Michael Key of "Key and Peele," Gaby Hoffman of "Transparent," Showtime's "Homeland," and Niecy Nash from "Getting On," the news outlet added.
