Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado to Write Book Detailing Relationship With Donald Trump

Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado announced that she will be writing a book detailing her rocky relationship with Donald Trump.

The Venezuelan beauty queen, who won the prestigious pageant back in 1996, once called the Republican presidential candidate an "imbecile," Fox News Latino reported. Trump also criticized Machado in the past by calling her an "eating machine" for gaining weight after winning Miss Universe.

Machado's publicist, Alberto Gomez, said that the actress won't be able to provide interviews because of her busy schedule. Machado is currently taping "Lo Imperdonable" ("The Unforgiven").

"Out of respect for her current work in 'The Unforgiven' with Mexican broadcaster Televisa, Alicia Machado will not make any comment at this time regarding this issue, although it is important to note that she has shown her displeasure and disapproval of the person and comments by Mr. Trump for quite some time," Gomez explained, as quoted by Fox News Latino.

The 38-year-old beauty queen said that the book will focus on Trump's "abuse of power, arrogance, and racism" exhibited by the business mogul in different instances, which Machado "suffered in the flesh as an underage," the news outlet noted. According to Gomez, the big reveal of Machado will detail who Trump really is, "now that he has gained even more notoriety with his attacks on the Mexican people," Fox News Latino continued.

Machado also described Trump as "a detestable man," adding that her time at the Miss Universe competition was "hell," the news outlet added. Since winning the pageant, Machado was involved in a number of controversies. In 1998, she was strung along in a murder case with her boyfriend at the time. She was also accused of having a child with a notorious drug dealer.

Reigning Miss Universe Paulina Vega has an ongoing feud with Trump as well. The hotel chain owner called the Colombian beauty a hypocrite for keeping the crown even after criticizing his offensive remarks against Mexican immigrants, which Vega labeled as "unjust and hurtful."

Vega, 22, said that her inability to step down as Miss Universe has something to do with a signed contract with the organization, which was owned by Trump, a separate report from Fox News Latino wrote.

Donald Trump Further Insults Mexican Immigrants

In his candidacy speech on June 16, the Republican presidential candidate referred to Mexican immigrants as drug dealers, rapists, and criminals. In an attempt to clarify himself, Trump claimed that his statements are "deliberately distorted by the media," CBC reported.

"Likewise, tremendous infectious disease is pouring across the border. The United States has become a dumping ground for Mexico and, in fact, for many other parts of the world." the 69-year-old business mogul remarked, as quoted by the news outlet.
