The long anticipated iPod Touch 6th Generation is believed to come with more developments compared to its predecessor released in 2012.

Gospel Herald said that the new instalment of the iPod series could come with the new iPhone since it did not make an appearance during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) last June 8 to June 12.

A similar CelebCafe report said that unreleased iPods appeared in the latest version of iTunes. The report revealed that the upcoming iPod Touch may not feature a Touch ID fingerprint sensor button, and will keep its 4-inch screen.

The same report also said that the device, which could be launched before the year ends, may have an upgraded processor and camera.

"The larger majority of people believe that we could finally see a new iPod lineup for 2015, especially as the range is a bit on the old side," the CelebCafe report said. "Interestingly, the iPod touch pictured also lacks the connector for the Loop bracelet that the current device has on its back."

According to MasterHerald, the device dedicated for storing and playing music may cost around $250 to $300 depending on the storage variant.

Christian Today said the upcoming device will adopt some features of the iPhone, like Siri.

"The new multimedia player will also come with Force Touch technology, to allow the interface and user interaction to be much more streamlined," the side said.

The upcoming iPod is also claimed to have an A9 processor and run on the soon-to-be released iOS 9.

Acording to the Apple website, iOS 9 will add multitasking features to Apple devices.

"Siri can do more than ever, and new proactive suggestions help you get things done before you ask," Apple describes on its website. "And improvements at the foundation of the operating system enhance performance, battery life, and security."

There will also be two variants of the device: one with a 4.7-inch screen and another with 5.5-inch screen.

A VCPost article said that the iPod's storage could come in 16, 32 and 64GB variants, with a possible 128GB version.

"The new iPod designs are said to come in red, orange, yellow, pink, and green, space gray, silver, white and gold versions," added VCPost.

iTechWiz said that the new iPod Touch could support Near Field Communication (NFC), a "wireless standard that will enable secure wireless communication between mobile devices."

For connectivity, the upcoming iPod will reportedly have the same Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth version 4.0 found on the 5th Generation iPod Touch .
