By Ma. Elena| Jun 29, 2015

Reports are claiming that Microsoft's rumored hybrid device, the Surface Pro 4, will lead the ultrabook market when it gets released.

Geek Snack claimed that the hybrid gadget "is gaining traction and people are starting to realize the potential of such devices." Though there is a lack of official reports when it comes to the Surface Pro 4, industry sources of the news outlet assured users that the laptop/tablet is still to be expected.

In addition, Microsoft is said to produce "niche devices" in the mobile aspect, which means that the successor for the Lumia 940 and Lumia 1020, the Lumia 1030, will come out alongside the Surface Pro 4. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in a letter to his employees that the corporation's products will undergo "change" and "reorientation," Geek Snack wrote. It's unclear whether the executive is speaking about the Surface Pro 4 or the Lumia 1030.

Listed below are the latest rumors and speculations about the Surface Pro 4. Note that these are unconfirmed at the moment and an official announcement from the tech giant is yet to be had.

Processor & OS

Venture Capital Post claimed that the hybrid device's 12-inch variant will be powered by the new fanless Intel processing chip, while the 14 inches model will be equipped by an i5 and i7 processor, which is the latest Broadwell technology or the fifth gen Intel processor. The device is expected to run using Windows 10, marking it as the first product of the corporation bearing the brand-new OS.

Yibada, however, claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will be powered by Intel's latest Skylake processors to be launched in August. If this rumor turns out to be true, then the hybrid device could come out by September, contradicting the July 29 release date claimed by other reports.

Display

According to International Business Times, the two variants of the Surface Pro 4 will both have a 2K resolution screen at 2160 x 1440 pixels.

Memory, RAM, & Other Features

For its memory space, Venture Capital Post wrote that the device will have 1 TB of RAM storage that can be expanded up to 16 GB. In addition, Geek Snack noted that the Surface Pro 4 will have a USB Type C.

The hybrid device is expected to have a 3.5 MP front camera and an 8 MP primary shooter, Yibada added. Additionally, the gadget is said to be compatible with the HoloLens VR device. Aside from these, Inquisitr claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will have a digital screen for pen input.

Price & Release Date

Ecumenical News speculated that the Surface Pro 4 will have a starting price at $1200 and can go as high as $2000. It is expected to be released on July 29 alongside Microsoft's latest OS, the Windows 10.
