The LG G5 which is expected to be released and made available on the market before the year ends promises high-end features and improvements better than what its predecessor offered.

A WCCF Tech report explained that the upcoming phone release may come with a retinal scanner at an affordable price.

The iris scanning technology, according to ValueWalk, is a major move for LG since it will render the fingerprint scanner found in Samsung Galaxy phones and Apple iPhones out of date.

The same report explained that this retina technology will operate using the front camera of the device thus having it serve two purposes.

"The technology will firstly scan the iris of the owner, and then compare it with biometric data which is stored and maintained by the source by biometrics tech company, Irience, which LG has partnered with in recent years," explained ValueWalk.

LG is reportedly working closely with Irience in integrating this technology to its flagship smartphone, noting that algorithms will be enhanced to improve the retinal recognition capacity of the device.

If this technology will really be incorporated in the device, ValueWalk said it will be possible for users of the LG G5 to unlock their phones with a single glance.

Aside from this noteworthy developments, below are some of the features expected from the LG G5:

Display

According to an LG-G5 report, the upcoming device will have a 5.6-inch quad HD sapphire screen display with at least 600 ppi. Meanwhile, per LG's website the LG G4 has IPS Quantum technology that shows accurate color and impressive contract ratios for more detailed images. This is a bit of an upgrade to the offering of its predecessor, which comes with a 16MP primary shooter.

Power

The much anticipated smartphone is also rumored to come with a 4,100 mAh Li-Ion battery and internal memory variants of 16, 32, and 64 GB. It will reportedly be powered by an Octa-core 2.9 ghz Snapdragon Qualcomm 810 processor and run with the current Android OS.

On the other hand, the LG G4 is also a very powerful phone with a 3,000 mAh battery, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with a 1.8GHz 64-bit Hexa-Core CPU. It also comes with 32GB of internal memory and expandable memory with a maximum capacity of 2TB.
