Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Release Date Confirmed? iPhone 7 Camera Destroyer Expected! Specs, Features & Price Rumors

Much has been said about Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 5. If the speculations and rumors are to be believed, the device's features and specs are set to directly compete against Apple's purported iPhone 7.

We compiled the latest reports about the Galaxy Note 5.

Camera

One of the biggest buzzes about the Galaxy Note 5 is its high-powered camera said to rival the iPhone 7's own shooter. According to ValueWalk, the Galaxy Note 5 could feature an f/1.8 lens.

Consumers have an increasing demand for an outstanding camera resolution, which is undoubtedly for taking selfies. This is why tech giants are continually developing and upgrading the snappers of their products. ValueWalk wrote that the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to have a 21-megapixel camera with capabilities of shooting in low-light conditions. If this rumor is true, then the smartphone will have a definite advantage over the iPhone 7.

ValueWalk noted that according to some reports, Apple is planning to include a sensor in the iPhone 7's camera smaller than its predecessor. This means that Apple's handset will likely have lower power when it comes to taking photos without adequate light.

Aside from this, the iPhone 7 is also said to have photography capabilities similar to those of a DSLR camera, along with a one of a kind periscope design, the news outlet added.

Design & Display

The Galaxy Note 5 is also said to come equipped with a high-quality display, particularly with 4K resolution. The news outlet added that Samsung will release a dual-curved version of the device, although some reports are claiming that this would be labeled as the Galaxy S6 Plus.

Processor

The Galaxy Note 5 is said to have a new processor composition that combines the CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and modem on a single chip, ValueWalk reported. Though the tech giant ditched Qualcomm, Inc.'s Snapdragon for its Galaxy S6, the corporation said that it will still work with the manufacturer in the future for their handset's chipsets. The Galaxy S6 is using Samsung's own Exynos SoC.

Price

PC Advisor speculated that the mobile device will be priced between $840 and $914. Previous Galaxy Note handsets also cost somewhere among these price tags when they were released.

Release Date

The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be unveiled in September, which follows Samsung's timeline when it comes to releasing their new products every year at IFA tradeshows, Forbes wrote.

Samsung executive vice president Rhee In Jong unintentionally announced the Galaxy Note 5's release when he said that the company's mobile payments service will be incorporated in their next high-end smartphone, Bloomberg reported. Samsung Pay is set to compete against Apple Pay, PayPal, and Android Pay, and was originally planned to be integrated in the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in July.
