Former Olympian and patriarch of the Kardashian family Bruce Jenner has reportedly been hiding inside his mansion in Malibu since he allegedly underwent a sex change surgery.

According to Radar Online, he has not been seen in public for about a month and a source said in the same report that he is still recovering after the operation.

"Bruce was cared for at his house around the clock by nurses that took 12-hour shifts," added the Radar Online source.

Jenner reportedly had a hard time dealing with his recovery. "The recovery hasn't been easy for Bruce because it was much more intensive than he anticipated," shared the source.

The 65-year-old former athlete reportedly had his operation three weeks ago though details of the operation have not been made public.

"The procedure involved reshaping Bruce's male genitalia into that of a woman. He was very happy with the results, but didn't realize how grueling the recovery would be," the source added of Kris Jenner's ex-husband.

As for the effects of the surgery, sources said that it caused him "some stress" which reportedly stemmed from a urinary tract infection. However, the said stress was only caused by the pain in the procedure.

A similar Stuff.co report noted that the procedure done on Jenner included "reshaping" his genitalia.

"He was very happy with the results, but didn't realise how gruelling the recovery would be," the insider added.

Both Jenner and his family have yet to confirm the sex change surgery as of late.

Despite rumors of the surgery, New York Daily News reports a source close to the family revealed that there is no truth in these speculations.

"There's no truth to it whatsoever. He's been working very hard on his docu-series, and there is no surgery involved in the production," added the New York Daily News insider.

A month ago, Jenner announced that he is already transitioning into a woman in a tell-all interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer.

"For all intents and purposes, I am a woman. People look at a me differently. They see [me] as this 'macho male', but my heart and soul, and what I do in life . . . that female side is part of me. I was not genetically born that way," he explained at the time of the interview.

In a separate interview with E! dubbed "About Bruce," the New York Daily News said Jenner finally told his stepdaughter Kim Kardashian about his decision to transition into a woman.

He was asked about the surgery and he responded to it humorously.

"Oh, the little thing down there? That's kind of the last thing you can do. You can do an awful lot before that," he added during the E! interview.
