By Staff| May 18, 2015

Since Microsoft announced its next iteration in the Windows operating system, talks about supported devices have toured the grapevine headlines. For instance, rumors surrounding the Lumia 940 and Lumia 1030 linger up to the present, but the alleged Surface Pro 4 seems to hold the greatest anticipation among prospective customers.

With the recent slashing of Surface Pro 3 prices and the announcement of Windows 10 editions, the Surface Pro 4 appears closer than ever. Still, Microsoft's word remains to be the only validation that will quench the thirst of expectant consumers.

It is known for a fact that Windows 10 will arrive in summer, but this vague release date may not satisfy prospects of the new hybrid slate. However, this detail may not be ignored, because according to GunShyAssassin, reports have it that the Surface Pro 4 launches beside the new software.

We could be looking at a July 2015 release, if Lisa Su's remarks, AMD CEO, are to be considered. Her statement was quoted by VentureBeat, "What we also are factoring in is, you know, with the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up."

The Gazette Review cited reports which speak of the same release month.

Another side of the rumor coin, however, puts the device at a later release. As told by Christian Today, the Surface Pro 4 is also believed to arrive in October or November, which lengthens our wait for about six or seven more months.

Los Angeles industry analyst Paul Mueller is convinced of an October release, The Inquisitr previously reported.

The outlet took note of Mueller's words, which said, "The Surface Pro 3 is selling just as well as it did when it first came out. Even though people expected a June or July release for the Pro 4, it probably won't happen until Windows 10 is released. That way, Microsoft could capitalize on both Windows 10 and the new Surface Pro at the same time."

Expected to compete with the likewise-rumored iPad Pro, the Surface Pro 4 is pegged to arrive in two different models, Day Herald noted. These include 12- and 14-inch variants. Both models are said to have matching keyboards and stylus accessories.

Under the hood, the Surface Pro 4 is purported to pack Intel's new Broadwell or Skylake chips. The processor is allegedly married by 16 GB of RAM and as much as 1 TB of storage, Day Herald wrote.

Interestingly, the device is speculated to have a new and improved GPU, The REM said. According to the outlet, such will make it "a perfect entertainment device."

The fanless Surface Pro 4 is also rumored to sport an 8 MP rear camera, 3.5 MP front snapper, 1080p video recording, LTE support and a longer battery life. With regards to pricing, the device is touted to sell for a cost that falls between $1,000 and $2,000.
