Android L 5.1 Lollipop Download & Release Date: LG G3, Samsung Galaxy S3, OnePlus One, Nexus 6 & More Updates Available

ROM firmwares for the official Android Open Source Project or AOSP 5.1 Lollipop OS for various devices have been released. Check them out below.

LG G3

Mobile software maker Cyanogen has unveiled a new CM12.1 series custom ROM for LG G3 mobiles. According to International Business Times, the CyanogenMod CM12.1 custom ROM is 270 MB in size and is capable of fixing bugs. It also has new applications such as refurbished email app powered by Boxer, which is able to provide multiple accounts support, exchange support, and canned responses for quick replies.

Other changes in the updated custom ROM include sound alerts (bells or whistles) and an option to select different LED color displays for email notifications and other functions, the news outlet listed. Samsung Galaxy S3

A mobile software developer community called Resurrection Remix also released a new custom-designed ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S3 based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, Day Herald reported. The brand new custom ROM is 229 MB in size and is equipped with plenty of shortcuts designed for key applications, customization options, and new user interface designed for the Samsung's 2012 mobile.

"Further customization options in the newly designed ROM includes a theme chooser with the Resurrection Remix pitch black theme, gestures anywhere feature, animations, app circle bar, clock widget, lock screens, recents panel, notification drawer, all new CM audio FX application, quick slider shortcuts, various UI-enhancing features and different performance tweaks," Day Herald listed.

The news outlet noted that the new custom ROM can be installed on the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 3G Model powered by the Exynos processor chipset.

OnePlus One

Another developer, Team Bliss, has released a new BlissPop firmware for the 2014 smartphone OnePlus One based on the latest Android 5.1.1_r1 Lollipop, a separate report from International Business Times wrote.

The new custom ROM is equipped with bug fixes, usual performance tweaks, and enhancements in battery life, the news outlet listed. Other customization options include animation modifiers, new notification drawer, Heads Up notification option, Lockscreen options, Power Menu, Gesture Anywehere, app bar circle, AudioFX Equaliser, and sound options, among others.

Nexus

Google also released a Chroma AOSP ROM of the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 for the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 handsets, WCCF Tech reported.

According to the news outlet, the Chroma AOSP ROM "is like the conventional stock android version of Google," with one of its strengths being performance, stability, and longer battery life. There are also customization options for Lock Screen, Navigation bars, Power Menus, and Status bar, among others.
