Kim Kardashian knows she has a lot of social media followers looking at every photo she posts. Kanye West knows this too, as he encouraged his wife to venture into another business opportunity. Her new $20 book called "Selfish" has just hit the shelves, and it seems that fans are lining up for it.

According to People Magazine, the 352-page coffee-table book features a lot of selfies from the reality TV star, with more than just a few of them being risque.

Should we daresay Break the Coffee Table?

But considering that most of these photos are already up online, why would people still buy her seflie book? The International Business Times said that besides being one of the most famous women in the world, it is also because Kardashian is someone who people can relate to. To get more answers, the news outlet interviewed a few fans of Kardashian who queued for the book, including 21-year-old student Michelle Rivera. She explained, "I personally identify with her. She's the face for women with curves, a darker complexion and dark hair. ... She made the media believe there's a different kind of beauty."

Another fan, 23-year-old New Yorker Sarah Eaton mirrored Rivera's thoughts, saying, "She's not really skinny. She has a normal body and is comfortable and confident with herself. She doesn't have anything to hide."

Dozens of Kim's fans crowded around Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue for the book signing, however, fans and photographers alike only had a few moments before the wife of Kanye West sashayed inside. Fun Fact: Ironically, according to Yahoo!, selfies were prohibited during the event.

As noted by the site, Kim's new book documents her rise to stardom through personal photos that she took herself for nearly a decade, as well as images of her family, famous siblings, celebrity friends and snaps of her husband and daughter. The photos show how she started from being Paris Hilton's sidekick to one of the most favorite subjects of the paparazzi.

Yahoo! said that Kim and her publisher are trying to turn selfies into art, as, according to her, they are a way of documenting one's life and in her case, connecting with fans. After all, the Instagram queen's selfies earned her over 31 million followers and millions worth of endorsements.

As if to prove a point, the 500 limited edition signed copies of "Selfish" sold out on Glit.com last month, with fans forking $60 for the coffee-table photo-filled book. However, it now retails for a mere $12.21 (hard cover) on Amazon.
