GTA 5 Online News: Content Creator Footage, Items Leaked [Video]

Grand Theft Auto Online has steadily improved since it was launched as a broken mess and is now a solid extension of the overall game. Now, it seems we can expect the game to get even better. A video has surfaced that shows what the promised content creator mode will be like and shows just how users will be able to make their own creations for the game.

The Grand Theft Auto Online content creator will be part of Rockstar's free DLC for the game, much like the recent Beach Bum DLC. The video that shows an early build of the new content also shows what users can expect for the creation tool.

The creation tool will offer a top-down view of the area that users can modify, and weapons and items placed on the created area will be highlighted. Players will able to choose where players spawn, which can be used to create some interesting deathmatch areas for the game. Players will also be able to choose where vehicles spawn if they choose to include them in the custom content as well as prop placements for adding a unique flair to the content. There does appear to be some restrictions for the mode, and there are limitation warnings for underground or indoor areas that cannot be accessed in the content creator.

Other options seen in the mode include the ability to add triggers to the user-created content. This implies that scripting options will be available to give the content a more professional and dynamic approach than many other content creation options in different games allow for. There will also be a lobby camera menu to play around with. Users will also be able to toggle what sort of radar players will be able to use on the map. Finally, a randomize option appears available for users, but what exactly it will do remains a mystery for now.

While this appears to be a legitimate leak of the new content creator for Grand Theft Auto 5, these features have not yet been confirmed by Rockstar. Furthermore, the user who uploaded the video claimed that the build for the unreleased DLC is not up to date, and only features deathmatch and racing customization. Furthermore, with the release of patch 1.06 for the game the file size of the content was changed, indicating that Rockstar has modified the DLC somewhat.
