Kendall Jenner Modeling Career a Struggle? ‘KUWTK’ Star Speaks Out!

Kendall Jenner has learned that being beautiful does not guarantee that people will treat you better. According to Kim Kardashian's little sister, despite being born into the Hollywood family, she's still struggling with her career as a model.

The new face of Calvin Klein said that she has had trouble with people taking her seriously, considering that she is best known for being part of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, and their reality TV Show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."

The young model talked about her struggles in the biz, telling V Magazine exclusively, "You have no idea how many doors closed on me and how many adults were either initially reluctant to take a chance working with me or who outright laughed at me behind my back." She also added, "It was kind of hard because all I was doing was going on go-sees, trying my best to break into this business as a teenager."

She thanked her parents Kris and Bruce for teaching her a very valuable principle which helped her find her way into the business. She shared, "My parents taught me that work ethic is one of the most important keys in life, and I believe it."

As for how she finally gained ground in the modelling business, she had Marc Jacobs and a few other designers to thank for. "I am so grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld, and Katie Grand, who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity," she said.

And despite the many others who turned her away, the 19-year-old model managed to get the attention of the big fashion companies like Calvin Klein, a brand that she loves, as she has been wearing their clothing even before she became part of the brand.

She was also excited about seeing herself on a Calvin Klein billboard, gushing, "This will be my first billboard on Sunset, which I'm ecstatic about. It's really humbling, and honestly, I am a pretty shy person, but being part of the Calvin campaign and seeing myself up there will be a dream come true."

She also said in jest, "I might have to eat every night at the Chateau Marmont with that hanging over my shoulder. 'Oh yeah, that little thing? I didn't notice!'"

Kendall was announced as the face of the brand earlier this year, and will be wearing its limited edition Denim Series in her campaign ---a collection said to be inspired by athletic and urban street wear, Digital Spy noted.
