New York Giants vs Washington Redskins Sunday Night Football Preview, TV & Live Stream Schedule

By Ed Molina| Dec 01, 2013

Despite hanging on to slim mathematical chances and trying desperately to salvage a late-season playoff run, the New York Giants (4-7) take on the Washington Redskins (3-8) on Sunday Night Football.

Washington is on a three-game losing streak and coming off a Monday night 27-6 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Robert Griffin III, whose leadership has been under scrutiny, threw for a season-low 127 yards with no touchdowns, tossed an interception, and was sacked six times in the game. Alfred Morris was held to 14 carries and rushed for a season-low 52-yards and has not scored since November 3rd. Griffin has also failed to help with the ground attack, gaining only 367 rushing yards and has yet to score a rushing touchdown all year.

"We had a dual threat. Now that threat is not quite there as strong as it was a year ago," said Washinton head coach Mike Shanahan. "But now we go to a different direction. We run play-action, we still run some of the zone-reads."

The Giants playoffs hopes were severely dashed by the Dallas Cowboys, who beat New York 24-21 on a late-game drive engineered by Tony Romo that ended the Giants four-game winning streak. New York lost C Jim Cordle for the rest of the season, and will move LG Kevin Boothe to center, with James Brewer playing left guard. The changes in the offensive line up is the sixth time the starting lineup was shuffled for QB Eli Manning, who threw for 174 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Manning remains confident despite his 72.5 QB rating, his worst since his rookie year, and 17 interceptions. The Giants' offense league-high 30 turnovers has also failed to dampen Manning's optimism.

"I think we know we have to win these next five games to give ourselves a shot," said Manning. "It's still just a shot, nothing is guaranteed, but there's still hope and we know all we can do is worry about us trying to win each game and win the next game and that's what we're going to do."

You can catch the New York Giants - Washington Redskins Sunday Night Football broadcast 8:30 p.m. Sunday night on NBC.

In other Sunday Week 13 NFL action:

Arizona Cardinals (7-3) at Philadelphia Eagles (6-4)

The Cardinals have won four straight games and are in a position to win a wild-card spot in the NFC Playoffs under new head coach Bruce Arias, who has turned the team's fortunes around after the taking the job during the offseason. Arias beat his former team last week, the Indianapolis Colts, who he took to the playoffs last season after Colts head coach Chuck Pagano had to take a medical leave of absence, winning the 2012 Coach of the Year award.

The Eagles, who are tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the NFC East division lead (with the Cowboys owning the tie-breaker), have named Nick Foles the team's starting quarterback for the rest of the year even with former starter, Michael Vick, returning to the lineup after recovering from an injury. Philadelphia is currently on a three-game winning streak with Foles under center, with the quarterback earning a QB rating of 152.8, throwing 199 consecutive passes without an interception.

Cincinnati Bengals (7-4) at San Diego Chargers (5-6)

The Bengals and the Chargers are jostling for postseason position in their Week 13 match-up, with San Diego coming off a 41-38 upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs last week. San Diego QB Philip Rivers tossed for 392 yards and three touchdowns, including a 26-yard touchdown pass to WR Seyi Ajirotutu with 24-seconds remaining in the game, keeping the Chargers a game behind the Baltimore Ravens for the second wild-card spot.

The Bengals are looking to separate themselves from the Ravens in the race for the AFC North division, with Cincinnati ahead of Baltimore by a game. The Bengals crushed the Cleveland Browns 41-20 in their Week 11 win prior to their bye week, with QB Andy Dalton throwing for three touchdowns. Dalton currently ranks third in the AFC with 21 touchdowns this season.

Denver Broncos (9-2) at Kansas City Chiefs (9-2)

With both teams tied for the best record in the AFC, Sunday afternoon's division rivalry game between the Broncos and the Chiefs may decide who will win home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Kansas City lost to the San Diego Chargers on a last-minute drive after Kansas City CB Sean Smith got beat by Charger WR Seyi Ajirotutu for a touchdown late in the game. QB Alex Smith threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns while RB Jamaal Charles rushed for 115 yards on 14 carries, including two touchdowns.

The Broncos are also coming off a heartbreaking loss against the New England Patriots, who had built 24-0 lead at halftime only to squander it and watch Patriot K Stephen Gostkowski nail a 31-yard field goal to cap off the franchise's largest comeback victory, defeating the Broncos 34-31 in overtime. Manning went 19-of-36, throwing for 150 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. The Broncos defense was worn down by QB Patriots Tom Brady, who cut through the Denver defense scoring on five straight drives in the team's come-from-behind win.
