Apple Watch Preorder Dates and Pricing in the U.S., Canada and U.K.: How Do the Smartwatch Prices Compare as April Release Date Looms?

Apple's highly-anticipated wearable, the Apple Watch, has its release date to the market on April 24, while preorders start on April 10, 2015. At this point, it's interesting to know how the device is priced for the three different editions and how the prices compare in the U.S., Canada and U.K. markets.

Before we get into details, note that the Apple Watch initially comes in nine countries, TechRadar reported. These include the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan.

As stated by the outlet, Tim Cook has promised that more countries will be getting the smartwatch soon. Preorders for the Apple Watch begin on April 10, 2015.

Compare pricing schedules of all three Apple Watch collections in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. below:

Apple Watch

The cheapest models of the standard Apple Watch retail for $549 in the U.S. and $699 in Canada ($555 USD). These are the 38 mm stainless steel versions with white and black sport bands. Their 42 mm counterparts sell for $599 USD and $779 CAD ($619 USD).

In the U.K., the 38 mm versions sell for £479 ($716 USD), inclusive of VAT approximately £80. The larger ones sell for £519 ($776 USD) inclusive of £87 VAT.

The 38 mm stainless steel case models with black classic buckle and Milanese loop both sell for $649 USD. In Canada, they are priced for $849 CAD ($674 USD). Their 42 mm counterparts are priced at $699 USD and $919 CAD ($730 USD).

The smaller black classic buckle and Milanese loop models sell for £559 ($845 USD) in the U.K., including approximate VAT of £94. The larger ones sell for £599 ($895 USD) with estimated £100 VAT.

The 42 mm stainless steel case models with black, bright blue, stone and light brown leather loops are individually priced for $699 USD and $919 CAD ($730 USD). In the U.K., these are priced for £599 ($895 USD), inclusive of £100 VAT.

Starting at $749 USD and $979 CAD ($778 USD) are stainless steel case models with black, midnight blue, soft pink and brown modern buckles, all at 38 mm. British price is at £649 ($969 USD) with approximately £109 VAT.

One can own the 38 mm stainless steel case with link bracelet for $949 USD and $1,229 CAD ($976 USD). Its 42 mm version comes at $999 USD and $1,299 CAD ($1,032 USD).

The 38 mm model sells for £819 ($1,223 USD) in the U.K., inclusive of £137 VAT. Its 42 mm counterpart is priced at £859 ($1,283 USD) with £144 VAT.

The 38 mm model in space black case with space black stainless steel link bracelet comes at $1,049 USD and $1,389 CAD ($1,104 USD); its 42 mm version is priced for $1,099 USD and $1,459 CAD ($1159 USD).

In the U.K., these watches are priced for £899 ($1,224 USD) and £949 ($1,419 USD) with £150 and £159 VAT, respectively.

Apple Watch Sport

In the U.S., the cheapest versions of the smartwatch sell for $349. These are models under the Sport collection, measuring 38 mm: silver aluminum case models with white, blue, green and pink bands; and space gray aluminum case model with a black band.

For $399, the same cases in similar colors become larger at 42 mm.

The 38 mm watches are priced for $449 ($357 USD) in Canada, while the 42 mm models sell for $519 CAD ($412 USD).

In the U.K., the 38 mm watches are priced for £299 ($447 USD), which includes VAT of approximately £50. The 42 mm versions come at £339 ($506 USD) inclusive of approximate VAT worth £57.

Apple Watch Edition

The Edition collection is undeniably the priciest of all Apple Watches. The 38 mm 18-karat rose gold (white sport band) and yellow gold case (black sport band) models are priced for $10,000 USD ($13,000 CAD = $10,331 USD). Their 42 mm versions come at $12,000 USD ($15,500 CAD = $12,318 USD).

In the U.K., the 38 mm models described above are priced for £8,000 ($11,962 USD) inclusive of VAT approximately £1,334. Their 42 mm counterparts sell for £9,500 ($14,205 USD) inclusive of £1,584 VAT.

The 38 mm 18-karat rose gold (rose gray modern buckle) and yellow gold (bright red modern buckle) case models are the most expensive of all Apple Watches, priced for $17,000 USD and $22,000 CAD ($17,483 USD).

These models cost £13,500 ($20,186 USD) in the U.K., inclusive of a VAT estimated at £2,250.

The 42 mm 18-karat yellow gold case models with black and midnight blue classic buckles retail for $15,000 USD and $19,000 CAD ($15,099 USD).

In the U.K., they come at £12,000 ($17,943 USD) inclusive of an estimated £2,000 VAT.

Where to Find the Cheapest Watches

Note that U.S. dollar (USD) equivalents for Canadian dollar (CAD) and British pound (£) prices may vary as of press time. In USD, Apple Watches sold in Canada cost slightly higher than their American counterparts. U.K. pricing, as you may have observed, is the most expensive of all three countries.
