'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4' PS4, Xbox One, PC Release Date, Gampelay & Trailer: New Concept Artwork Revealed

In a recently released artwork, Bandai Namco has shown that the latest Naruto game is all color, action and nostalgia as Team 7 gears up as the successors to the Legendary Sannin.

With the time skip the last Naruto manga chapter did for their epilogue, it's easy to see that Team 7 has settled down (mostly) with their families. Naruto has Hinata, Sasuke is out being his difficult self and Sakura has been left to tend to their child.

This is why the game comes at such a time when the fandom has been in an uproar about the ending and who ended up with whom. There's nothing like a good game to help us remember that once, these ships weren't set in stone and that everyone could still bring down the tailed beast with their own summons.

Two Released Images

"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" is superbly teased with two images from Bandai Namco. In the first, we see Team 7 geared up as they were during the second Shinobi war, presumably standing atop their respective summoned beasts.

The second image takes the cake with the three summons clearly showcasing their powers. Katsuyu can be seen on the left, her unknowable body being divided into smaller slugs. Bunta is fighting with his kodachi against other forms and attacks from the Ten-Tailed Beast. Is that the new and improved Manda in the river of summons?

New Sannin

Kishimoto, Naruto's creator, has been known for his love of parallels and of history repeating itself in the themes seen in the Naruto manga and anime. So it wasn't such a surprise that the central team of the series became the new legendary Sannin as they were the true successors to their previous generations' greatest ninjas.

Sakura inherits Katsuyu, Tsunade's healing slug that can bring everyone (including someone chopped in half) from the brink of death. Sasuke, for his great skill, dojutsu and all-around bad temperament was able to inherit Manda, Orochimaru's snake. As for Naruto, his friendship with the Frog summons lets him call on any one from that family, but most importantly Gamabunta, the frog he was able to summon as early as his genin days during the exams.

The game is slated to be released sometime this year, 2015 for PC, Xbox One and PS4, says Push Square. You can check out the game trailer below.
