'Grandpa' Cast News: Christina Milian Bags Female Lead in Fox Comedy Pilot

Christina Milian is set to star in Fox's single-camera comedy pilot "Grandpa."

The show, which will also feature John Stamos and "Red Dawn" actor Josh Peck, will reportedly revolve around the character of longtime bachelor Jimmy (Stamos) who suddenly discovers that he has a son named Gerald (Peck). Gerald is a father of a two-year old girl, a result of "a one-night stand with the sexy Vanessa (Milian)." He longs for a strong father figure who will guide him through fatherhood, Deadline explained. Things started to get more complicated when Vanessa meets Jimmy and falls for him.

The project helmed by ABC Studios and 20th TV is written by Danny Chun and produced by Dan Fogelman, Indie Wire reported.

Aside from Milian, Stamos, and Peck, former "Criminal Minds" star Paget Brewster is also included in the cast as Sara, Jimmy's old girlfriend who is "a former rocker chick who became pregnant with his child 26 years ago, but has raised their child, Gerald, single-handedly," according to a separate report from Deadline. Sara didn't tell Jimmy about their son, but now Gerald needs a reliable father figure to teach him about romance, and this will prompt his mother to "disrupt Jimmy's long bachelorhood at long last," Deadline added.

Christina Milian to Star in 'East Los High'

Milian, 33, is also onboard to star in the third season of Hulu's original series "East Los High" as Liliana, "a kick-ass music producer at R&R Records who becomes Camila's (Vannessa Vasquez) mentor," but she "might need to guide her new apprentice in more ways than either expected," Variety explained. The teen drama, which showcases an all-Latino cast, focuses on "the lives of teenagers growing up in East Los Angeles from the American-Latino perspective," it added.

The upcoming season of "East Los High," which reportedly debuts in summer, will once again see romance, sex, dancing, and mystery infiltrating East Los High. The new episodes will also showcase the Bomb Squad dance team "step up their game with some unexpected new team members," Variety further reported.

Milian is sure keeping busy these days. Aside from her commitments in "Grandpa" and "East Los High," the reality star appeared on the second season of "The Voice" as the talent show's social media correspondent, and on Season 17 of "Dancing With the Stars" as one of the competitors. She also recently wrapped "Christina Milian Turned Up," according to Variety.
