MacBook Air Retina 2015 Release Date, Specs, Features & Price: Out Next Week? Edge-to-Edge Keyboard Tipped [Rumors]

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) followers are excited for next week, as the Cupertino giant already confirmed its "Spring Forward" event. The San Francisco occasion will be held on Mar. 9, and according to Redmond Pie, the gathering's focus "is almost certain" to be the Apple Watch.

Most reports agree that the wearable is indeed stepping into the limelight, considering its announced "early 2015" release. Despite these facts, speculations about other Apple products have not ceased, and the new MacBook Air Retina is among those pegged to arrive on Monday.

As told by MacRumors, one particular site, The Michael Report, has claimed to have knowledge through sources "within" Apple. Apparently, it is believed that the Apple Watch will not be monopolizing all the attention in the upcoming event.

"Many are expecting Apple talk more about the Apple Watch. However, sources familiar with the matter within Apple have exclusively told The Michael Report that Apple plans to unveil the long-awaited Retina MacBook Air at the same event," The Michael Report wrote.

The source went on to indicate the validity of its information, "The Michael Report has independently verified this information to be highly credible."

Rumors about the alleged 12-inch MacBook Air Retina had been around for quite some time. If today's information holds absolute truth, then prospects could only utter one word: Finally.

Interestingly, the report coincides with Ming-Chi Kuo's earlier prediction, which claimed the laptop's arrival in March. The KGI Securities analyst has specifically believed that an event will be held, and this seems to be one fact already granted.

However, until we hear from Apple, the report may be best taken with a pinch of salt. We're only a few days away from "Spring Forward," so it's imminent that such detail may eventually be disproved at once.

Apple may also introduce new models of the 11- and 13- inch MacBook Air. As a matter of fact, the latter's alleged specs have recently surfaced, BGR reported.

Citing information from Feng.com, BGR wrote that the 13-inch MacBook Air will arrive with Intel Broadwell Core i5-5250U processor, Intel HD Graphics 6000 and 7,422 mAh battery. RAM and resolution are reportedly staying at 4 GB and 1440 x 900 pixels.

Aside from a 12-inch screen, the MacBook Air Retina is touted to have a slimmer and lighter design, a "polished" Apple logo, 2732 x 1536 pixel resolution, increased battery life and a non-clickable touchpad. In addition, it's said to pack Intel's Core M chip, allowing fanless architecture. MacRumors cited the possible inclusion of "a keyboard that stretches right to the edges of the machine."

As told by Macworld, the new notebook is purported to sell for $1,099.
