Apple has confirmed a San Francisco event happening on Mar. 9, recent reports stated.

Speculations have it that the Cupertino giant will spill details about its highly-anticipated Apple Watch, Invest Correctly noted. Followers would remember that the wearable is slated for an "early 2015" release.

Dubbed as "Spring Forward," the event kicks off 10 a.m. at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater.

Bloomberg took note of Tim Bajarin's remarks, Creative Strategies Inc. president, who expects to hear reasons why the smartwatch may be wanted.

The president said, "The development community has had at least three months to start writing apps so I think they'll profile some of the best apps."

On top of the confirmed Apple Watch, the industry has set its eyes on a slew of purported releases this year. Prospects are expecting the arrival of new iPhones, iPads and MacBooks, as well as a refresh of the iPod touch and the iOS.

Touted to equip future devices, the iOS 9 is rumored to launch in June's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Its public beta reportedly arrives in summer, while a final release sets by fall.

Speaking with The Telegraph, Tim Cook expressed how the company's wearable deviates from traditional watches. The CEO even compared it to the likes of an iPhone.

Cook said, "This will be just like the iPhone: people wanted it and bought for a particular reason, perhaps for browsing, but then found out that they loved it for all sorts of other reasons."

The Telegraph went on to cite the Apple Watch's notable health features, including its ability to monitor heart rates, notify of sedentary activity (i.e. sitting), encourage metabolic targets, run a special rewards system and most importantly, remind users to get enough exercise.

The watch is also expected to replace car keys, according to Cook, and this seems to be part of the company's efforts in gaining automotive market ground. At this point, rumors all over the iCar "Titan" are rampant, a foreseen rival to GM, Nissan and Tesla.

The Apple Watch, previously dubbed as the "iWatch," comes in three different collections: the standard Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Sport and the Apple Watch Edition.

Apple brands the wearable as its "most personal device yet," making use of various technologies in conjunction with the iPhone. Expect the device to be a convenient notification center as well.

It is also is supported by Apple Pay, therefore functioning as a personal wrist wallet.

Initially announced in September, the Apple Watch starts at $349, CNET informed. The Edition collection most certainly gets a higher tag price.
