The official Nokia branch in Australia has confirmed the price and release date for the new Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphone.

According to Nokia Australia, the Lumia 1520 will be an exclusive smartphone with retailer Harvey Norman starting Dec. 11.

Nokia Australia noted the Lumia 1520 will be available, unlocked, for $899. With the purchase of the Lumia 1520, Microsoft will offer the customer a free $20 app voucher for the Windows Phone app store.

"There's a growing demand for mobile devices that have the power, speed, and screen size to handle the demands of busy life and enable people to be more productive," Nokia Australia Managing Director Steve Lewis stated. "As capturing and sharing images and video become more instinctive ways to communicate and express yourself, we believe the additional screen size and next level imaging technology of devices like the Lumia 1520 will give people a compelling reason to switch."

Meanwhile, in the U.S., the Lumia 1520 is available for $99.99 when signing a two-year contract with AT&T. As Latino Post reported, the $99.99 offer is available on Amazon.com along with a "Without a Service Plan" cost of $549.

The Lumia 1520 features a screen size of 6 inches with 1,920x1,080 resolution. The camera specifications for the device include a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. The Lumia 1520 will only be available in a 32GB internal storage model, even though the Microsoft Store has a 16GB variant. The device has 2GB of RAM and offers a microSD card slot for an additional 64GB of storage. The battery capacity for the Lumia 1520 stands at 3,400mAh, which offers up to 25.1 hours for talk time in a 3G network, and approximately 780 hours on standby.
