By Staff| Feb 17, 2015

As far as industry speculations have taken it, two Lumia smartphones are expected to arrive in the indefinite future -- this year, hopefully. Since then, we've learned that Microsoft is rebranding the Lumia line without Nokia's name. But without confirmation about these devices, all we can really do is wait.

Hence, we've curated rumors aimed at the Lumia 1030 and Lumia 940 thus far, to see how they fare against each other.

Release Date & Operating System

Before we get into specs, let it be known that the Lumia 1030 is touted to arrive late this year, as thought by the Inquisitr. Of course, the outlet clarified that it isn't certain, but nevertheless mentioned the idea of the smartphone launching alongside Windows 10.

On the other hand, Softpedia wrote that the Lumia 940 could also come with the new operating system, citing a mid-2015 possibility. Until then, we'll be on the lookout for Microsoft's word.

Display

As listed on GSMArena's preliminary specs list, the Lumia 1030 is expected to arrive with a 5-inch AMOLED screen, housing a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (441 ppi). Such display is meant to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Meanwhile, the Lumia 940 is also purported to pack a 5-inch display, Phone Arena noted. The resolution is thought to be worth 1080 x 1920 pixels. In addition, dimensions are said to be 137 x 71 x 8.9 mm for a total weight of 149 g.

Processor & RAM

As we have previously noted, speculations have it that the Lumia 1030 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC -- a quad-core MSM8974 variant of Snapdragon 800 / 801. The device is rumored to pack the same 2 GB of RAM found in its predecessor, the Lumia 1020.

A different chip is aimed at the Lumia 940. According to TechRadar, the device could run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 clocked at 2.7 GHz. The chip is said to be coupled with 3 GB of RAM.

Camera & Imaging

As told by Design & Trend, rumors have it that the Lumia 1030 packs a whopping 50 MP main camera. However, the outlet pointed that some other "discussion" resulted to claims that the device will stick with the 41 MP standard packed by its predecessor.

The Lumia 940, apparently, is also pegged to come with a camera upgrade. The device is rumored to have a new PureView shooter, Phone Arena noted. The camera will house 24 MP, alongside the ability of capturing 4K videos at a rate of 60 fps.

Price

Citing detail from the Tech Eye Tech, Realty Today reported that the Lumia 1030 could sell around $1,000. The PCAdvisor is convinced that the Lumia 940 will "likely have a similar price" as its predecessor, the Lumia 930.
