'Divergent 2: Insurgent' Release Date, Cast, Synopsis & Trailers: Tris & Four Faction-less? Spoiler Clip Out! [Video]

By Staff| Jan 24, 2015

There's a certain beauty in the existence of spoilers.

Fans of the dystopian trilogy "Divergent" are being treated with goodies at this point. The franchise's second installment, "Insurgent," is set to hit theaters on Mar. 20, 2015. We're barely two months away from finding out what happened to Tris after boarding that train, leaving future Chicago behind.

In the meantime, aside from its official (and epic) trailers, a behind-the-scenes clip from "Insurgent" has surfaced online. The two-minute footage begins with what appears to be Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) walking from their backs. Caleb (Ansel Elgort) comes following, surveying the seemingly unfamiliar place.

Recalling the events from "Divergent," Caleb's wonder is actually explainable -- he has never been to such place before. Judging from the appearance of the people around, it looks our Insurgents are uniting with the Factionless!

For those who may not know, "Divergent" is set in the post-apocalyptic city of Chicago, where society is made up of five different "factions." Simply put, these are social groups segregated based on five different virtues deemed to be important for the nation's survival.

These factions are:

1. Abnegation - values others over self; members of this faction work in service of the public; they used to be the "governing faction" until the Erudites came to manipulate

2. Amity - values peace, happiness and everything in between; members of this faction are said to make good counselors and caretakers; they also tend to live simple lives

3. Candor - values honesty; members of this faction are represented by black-and-white mentality (and colors as well); they are said to be good practitioners of the law

4. Dauntless - values courage, bravery and strength; members of this faction build the society's army; they are very skilled in physical combat

5. Erudite - values knowledge and intelligence; members of this faction believe that ignorance is not stupidity, but a lack of knowledge; they work on scientific experimentation and logical pursuits

The Factionless is composed of uncategorized citizens, most of which were believed to be Divergents (individuals sorted to more than one faction).

In addition to the clip mentioned above, there are five official posters which had been released, Hypable reported. Five "Insurgent" characters were each given a tagline, along with a landscape which appears to represent their visions.

Design & Trend also took note of several movie stills uploaded in Tumblr, and you can check them out here.

"Insurgent" casts Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Ansel Elgort, Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer, among others.
