Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fight 2015: 'The Money' Has Until End of January to Agree to Megafight

Proving that he is serious in making the fight against Floyd Mayweather happen, Manny Pacquiao set a one-month ultimatum for "The Money" to respond to their challenge.

Pacquiao's promoter and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum said that Mayweather should agree to fight by the end of the month or the former is moving on to find another opponent.

"He's got to move ahead. We've got to have a fight in the spring. But you have to have a deadline. This can't drip on forever. We're working on a plan B," Arum was quoted by New Year Daily News as saying.

The Top Rank CEO also explained that he and Pacquiao discussed the deadline when they met in Los Angeles last week. The camp seems to be already in a rush since Mayweather announced that the fight will happen on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In an interview with Sirius Xm Radio, Mayweather said that they have been trying their best to communicate with Pacquiao's camp.

"We're going to make it happen though. We're trying, but it's been extremely difficult dealing with Top Rank. And I don't want to sit here and point the finger at Pacquiao and say 'it's him.' It's not Pacquiao, it's his promoter (Arum). A lot of times when Pacquiao says 'I agreed' - you don't have nothing to do with this, you're not a boss. On a chess board you're a pawn," he added.

The Filipino champ did not let this pass as he posted the following tweet: "I can easily beat @FloydMayweather, I believe that," and "If you really care about the fans, you will fight. If you care about yourself...you won't fight.#MannySmile."

Arum also agreed to Pacquiao's statement, claiming Mayweather is an easy opponent for Pacman.

"That's why we want to do it. Floyd can't fight a fast lefty. But I've known from the beginning that he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao," Arum added, as quoted by New York Daily News.

In the Sirius XM Radio interview, Mayweather reiterated that no matter what Pacquiao says, the Filipino champ is still under Top Rank Promotions which ultimately makes the final decision on any fighting deal.

"I've been saying this for a long time, Pacquiao has no say because he fights for Top Rank Promotions. He's not in a position to call the shots right now; he's not the A-side. I have Mayweather Promotions, it's my company. Do I want to fight Pacquiao? Absolutely. Are we negotiating? Absolutely. Has the fight been made? Not at all," he added.

The entire sports industry is already expecting the fight to happen and fans are hoping that both camps will be able to iron things out soon.
