Android L 5.0 Download Release Date: Moto G Falcon 5.0.2 Update Out [See Motorola Schedules Here]

Last week, Android software developer, Cyanogen, released an official 5.0.1 Lollipop CM12 custom ROM, International Business Times reported. This "Nightly" build was intended for Motorola's Moto G (Falcon), and although official, the outlet indicated that "Nightlies" are unstable and contained bugs that would need further attention.

This time, Benowit Niarg has revealed via Google+, a new build for Falcon. According to the post, the build is synced with all CyanogenMod and crDroid sources, featuring FM radio. On the downside, it has no dual sim support.

The build goes by the file name "crdroid-5.0.2-20150109-falcon.zip" and takes a storage space of 238.1 MB. You can download it here.

If you want a more versatile custom firmware, True Android took note of TheMasterMindGT's ROM, which was said to support any variant of the 2013 Moto G (xt1022, xt1032, xt1033 and xt1034). However, since the build isn't final and official, bugs may be expected along the way.

For a storage space of 209.86 MB, you can download the file here.

Those uncomfortable with flashing procedures may opt to wait for official over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Last year, Motorola confirmed through a blog post that Android's newest OS will be coming to a number of its devices. These include the Moto X (1st and 2nd Generation), Moto G (1st and 2nd Generation), Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini.

In another blog entry, the company confirmed its roll-out among the following U.S. handsets: Moto X (2nd Generation) Pure Edition, Moto G (2nd Generation) US GSM and Moto G (2nd Generation) Global GSM retail versions.

Yet some other updates may not have been explicitly announced. For instance, TechRadar noted reports, claiming that the some of the first-generation Moto G's have already received Lollipop.

Motorola has dedicated a convenient software announcements page to those who want to check for Lollipop updates. Users must be able to identify their devices in order to get a successful feedback status from the site.

Since there's more than one version for both the Moto X and Moto G, users are advised to identify their device by going to Settings > About Phone. The model number field will indicate whether the handset belongs to a second-generation type. On the other hand, a plain "Moto X" or "Moto G" suggests a first-generation type.

Motorola devices located in other countries may select their region and check for updates here.
