‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Release Date & Updates: Rockstar Games To Make Sequel 2015?

By Staff| Dec 22, 2014

Rockstar Games answered fans' biggest questions in its recent "Asked & Answered" post. At the mention of a possible "Red Dead Redemption" sequel, the company expressed that it's pleased to hear great enthusiasm for the series and invited fans to stay tuned in 2015 for further announcements. Are we getting "Red Dead Redemption 2," then?

The gaming giant responded, "It's wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for the 'Red Dead' series, and nearly 5 years after 'Red Dead Redemption's release(!)."

"As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as 'Red Dead Redemption,' 'Bully' and 'L.A. Noire,' we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually," the company explained.

Clearly, Rockstar is giving fans hope to see a sequel but perhaps not in their soonest requested time. It isn't unknown among loyal followers how long "Grand Theft Auto V" came after its predecessor, so the same thing potentially applies to any other title created by Rockstar.

But as they said it, 2015 may bring things we can all look forward to.

Rockstar went on to tell that they've got so many games they want to make. The company made an admission that issues of bandwidth and timing always seemed to prevent them from pursuing such intentions.

Meanwhile, one fan asked Rockstar whether or not it's focused in doing first-person games at present. The company revealed that it remains committed to third-person games, but it doesn't eliminate the idea of creating first-person modes in the future.

Rockstar said, "We are excited by the response to our first effort at a first person experience, but remain committed to third person games and may or may not use first person as a camera option in the future. We do like to, whenever possible, give people options so they can play a game the way they like."

Expectedly, another fan sought response from the gaming giant as to when the much-awaited Heists DLC for "GTA Online" is going to be released. While the company isn't ready to announce an official date, it responded in consolation that prospects may expect the DLC early next year.

Design & Trend is convinced that Rockstar's next installment would be exclusive for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

For the uninitiated, "Red Dead Redemption" is an open-world, survival game set in the American 1900s. The game is currently available for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
