NBA Trade Rumors 2013 News and Updates: Sacramento Kings Interested In Derrick Williams, Is Steve Nash Retiring?

The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to trade forward Derrick Williams and the Sacramento Kings could be a viable trade partner, Chad Ford of ESPN said.

According to Ford, the Timberwolves are indeed looking to trade the former No.2 NBA Draft pick as part of their win-now goal to keep Kevin Love happy in Minnesota, but it all boils down to which team will give the best value in return.

No deal is imminent according to Ford, but the Kings, which reportedly expressed strong interest in acquiring the 22-year-old forward, could strike a deal involving veteran forward Chuck Hayes, Jason Thompson or other young assets and draft picks.

"From everything I can gather, he's available. It's just about finding the right deal. Head coach Rick Adelman would prefer another veteran big to fill out the rotation. I think GM Flip Saunders wants a little more value. I know the Kings have a lot interest in Williams and might have the right combination of veterans to make a deal," Ford said when asked about the possible Williams trade.

Williams, whose playing time went down to 16.0 minutes per game this season due to his inability to fit into Rick Adelman's system, averaged 5.5 points and 1.9 rebounds in his first eight games this season.

Meanwhile, all the trade talks about Steve Nash could end soon as Peter Vecsey said that the veteran point guard is "seriously" considering retirement due to injuries affecting his ability to contribute to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I'm hearing Nash's pain is forcing him 2 seriously consider calling it a career. He'd still get $ this yr & next & LA'd get cap relief next," Vecsey said in a post on his official Twitter account.

Nash, who will turn 40 in February, has not been the same player the Lakers organization and its fans envisioned when he was acquired before the 2012-13 NBA season, averaging just 6.7 points and 4.8 assists in six games this season.
