Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag News: New DLC Leaked as PS4 Patch Goes Live [Trailer]

Assassin's Creed 4 has been a big hit for developer and publisher Ubisoft, and now the game has even more buried treasure to share with fans: The PlayStation 4 version of the game will have a new patch to bring new features to the game.

The new PlayStation 4 patch for the game, patch 1.03, will up the native resolution for Assassin's Creed 4 from 900p to 1080p. Associate Producer Sylvain Trottier claims in a Ubisoft blog post that while this feature is a key part of maximizing the game, it's the small details the development team added with the patch that show the team's dedication.

"The most important part of this title update is not necessarily 1080p native resolution...It's the fact that even when we were done with the project, even when we were finished with the certification and everything else, even when most of the engineers had started to work on other projects - like we always do at Ubisoft - some of my engineers continued to work on Black Flag..." wrote Trottier in the blog post.

Meanwhile, the trophy list for the PS4 version has been updated and reveals some details about the Blackbeard's Wrath DLC that is coming to the game. The new set of trophies can be found on PS3Trophies. The trophy list reveals that players will be able to play as Blackbeard for the first time as a multiplayer skin. A trophy called "Queen Anne's Revenge" specifically deals with Blackbeard, as users must get an acrobatic and gun kill within 10 seconds as the character. Two other new multiplayer classes, The Orchid and The Jaguar, will be included as part of the DLC.

In addition to the trophies for Blackbeard's Wrath, the Freedom Call DLC trophies were also leaked for the game. However, it is not clear what Ubisoft will charge fans for these DLC packages. It is likely that these DLC packages will be part of the season pass for the game, however, so the DLC will most likely be free for those who have already bought the season pass.
