iPad Air 2 Plus Release Date, Specs & Features: 12.2-inch Tablet Out Spring 2015 With iPhone 6S & Apple iWatch? [Video]

Dubbed as the iPad Air Plus, Apple's rumored tablet was recently speculated to pack a 12.2-inch display -- along with other specs such as an A9 processor and a 7 mm thickness, according to Mashable. In addition, the device was rumored to have four speakers for stereo sound.

The outlet cited Japanese magazine Mac Fan as source of information, later reported via website Macotakara. The device was expected to ship sometime between April and June (around Spring) next year. That said, we're at least four months away from seeing a larger iPad hit the market.

The dimensions of the rumored device is 305.31 x 220.8 x 7mm, as reported by TechRadar. Should this be true, the upcoming tablet appears much thicker than the iPad Air 2, but slightly thinner than the iPhone 6 Plus.

But the iPad Air Plus isn't the only rumored Apple device aimed for a Spring release. As we have previously reported, the iPhone 6S and Apple Watch were also assumed for launch around that time of the year.

Mashable added that the iPad Mini 4, based on Mac Fan, was also set for a Spring 2015 release. The device will allegedly pack iPad Air 2's similar A8X processor and design language. If this holds true, the Cupertino giant is unveiling four new devices in the first half of 2015!

Other reports claimed that the iPad Air Plus will be having a much-larger 12.9 inch display, according to MacRumors. The outlet also cited KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who predicted earlier that the iPad Pro (another moniker) might not enter production until the second quarter of 2015 (yes, that's April to June).

FileHippo took note of Apple's willingness in morphing the iPhone to different sizes. The source said it won't be shocking if the iPad adds a Pro version in its lineup. Accordingly, the iPad Air Plus may shed some more light on productivity if it comes bundled with a keyboard -- and one's office becomes everywhere.

TechRadar said that Samsung has knocked out Apple with its introduction of the 12.2-inch Galaxy Note Pro and Galaxy Tab Pro tablets. We wonder if the Cupertino giant will be able to catch up this time.
