Kuwait vs. Thailand Live Score, Preview, Prediction, Schedule: AFC Asian Cup 2015 Qualifiers

By Staff Reporter| Nov 19, 2013

Kuwait and Thailand will face off in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers on Tuesday.

Kuwait currently sits in second place in the group and has a huge chance to clinch a top-two spot in the group with a win over Thailand. The team has six points with a record of one win and three draws. Kuwait won 3-1 at Thailand in the opener before drawing 1-1 with Iran at home in its second game. The team then followed that up with two straight draws against Lebanon.

Thailand has yet to earn a single point in its campaign and has conceded 13 goals in four matches. The team lost 3-1 against Kuwait in its opener and was destroyed 5-2 by Lebanon in the follow-up. 2-1 and 3-0 losses against Iran followed.

Kuwait leads Lebanon by just one point in the standings but has a huge chance to open up a lead with Iran and Lebanon facing off. Iran is the favorite in that match and should come away with at least a draw. This would leave Lebanon with six points; a Kuwait win over Thailand would put the team at six nine points. The team would then need one point against Iran to secure a spot in the 2015 tournament. A loss would put the team in a dire situation as it would need to defeat Iran on the road and hope that Lebanon falters against Thailand (an unlikely result).

Prediction: Kuwait wins 5-0.

Start Time: Kick off begins at 10:30 a.m. EST
