'The Hunger Games 3: Mockingjay Part 1' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: Katniss Meets Cressida in New Spoiler Clip

By Staff| Nov 10, 2014

In less than two weeks, the districts will hold hands to weaken the forces of the oppressive Capitol -- under the noble leadership of the "Mockingjay."

That's right: "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" hits theaters on Nov. 21, and Lionsgate sure knows how to double the hype up. A second official clip has been unveiled, showcasing the meeting of Panem heroin Katniss Everdeen and film director Cressida.

Played by Natalie Dormer from "Game of Thrones," Cressida is a Capitol-born rebel who took her filming skills to a patriotic level, alongside a loyal camera crew. In the book, she has worked with Katniss several times, publicizing the whereabouts of the rebellion.

In the freshly-released clip, Cressida introduces Katniss to her crew: Messalla, Castor and Pollux. She tells Katniss, "We all fled on our own...for this... for you."

The new video follows the first official spoiler clip which featured Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in the hands of the Capitol. It began with Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci) airing on TV, "There has been rampant speculation about what really happened in the Quarter Quell."

The talkshow host continued, "And here, to shed a little light on the subject for us, is a very special guest. Please welcome, Mr. Peeta Mellark." The clip ends with Peeta spilling details (which are believed to be scripted orders from the Capitol) and Katniss digesting the fact that he has been alive after all.

Back in the Quarter Quell, Katniss and Peeta were separated following Beetee Latier's (Jeffrey Wright) game plans. The District 3 victor proposed an idea which aimed to kill other living tributes (the Careers, most notably).

Coiled around a lightning-stricken tree, the conductive wire was required by the plan to be brought in water. Johanna Mason (Jena Malone) and Katniss were tasked to do this -- so that when lightning strikes, all the other tributes within the water will be electrocuted to death. Peeta and Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin), on the other hand, were tasked to guard Beetee.

But Careers Brutus and Enobaria (District 2) were able to track the wire, cutting it off even before the plan executes. Johanna saw both enemies and pretended to take down Katniss instead; intelligently getting the tracker out from the latter's arm. "Catching Fire" ended with Katniss knowing that Peeta has been captured by the Capitol, and that her home District 12 was all gone.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Patina Miller and Natalie Dormer.

Meanwhile, CapitolTV has completed its five-episode web series "District Voices." Watch them after Cressida's clip below.
